رد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم الأمرَ إلى ربه سبحانه وتعالى فقال: ربي يعلم القول في السماء والأرض، ويعلم ما أسررتموه من حديثكم، وهو السميع لأقوالكم، العليم بأحوالكم. وفي هذا تهديد لهم ووعيد.
