20 أُولَٰئِكَ لَمْ يَكُونُوا مُعْجِزِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ مِنْ أَوْلِيَاءَ ۘ يُضَاعَفُ لَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ ۚ مَا كَانُوا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ السَّمْعَ وَمَا كَانُوا يُبْصِرُونَ ﴿20﴾

التفسير الميسر - مجمع الملك فهد أولئك الكافرون لم يكونوا ليفوتوا الله في الدنيا هربًا، وما كان لهم مِن أنصار يمنعونهم من عقابه. يضاعَفُ لهم العذاب في جهنم؛ لأنهم كانوا لا يستطيعون أن يسمعوا القرآن سماع منتفع، أو يبصروا آيات الله في هذا الكون إبصار مهتد؛ لاشتغالهم بالكفر الذي كانوا عليه مقيمين.

Français - Muhammad Hamidullah Ceux-là ne peuvent réduire (Allah) à l'impuissance sur terre! Pas d'alliés pour eux en dehors d'Allah et leur châtiment sera doublé. Ils étaient incapables d'entendre; ils ne voyaient pas non plus.

English - Sahih International Those were not causing failure [to Allah] on earth, nor did they have besides Allah any protectors. For them the punishment will be multiplied. They were not able to hear, nor did they see.
