82 أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَانُوا أَكْثَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَأَشَدَّ قُوَّةً وَآثَارًا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَمَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ ﴿82﴾

التفسير الميسر - مجمع الملك فهد أفلم يَسِرْ هؤلاء المكذبون في الأرض ويتفكروا في مصارع الأمم المكذبة من قبلهم، كيف كانت عاقبتهم؟ وكانت هذه الأمم السابقة أكثر منهم عددًا وعدة وآثارًا في الأرض من الأبنية والمصانع والغراس وغير ذلك، فما أغنى عنهم ما كانوا يكسبونه حين حلَّ بهم بأس الله.

Français - Muhammad Hamidullah Ne parcourent-ils donc pas la terre pour voir ce qu'il est advenu de ceux qui étaient avant eux? Ils étaient [pourtant] plus nombreux qu'eux et bien plus puissants et ils [avaient laissé] sur terre beaucoup plus de vestiges. Mais ce qu'ils ont acquis ne leur a servi à rien.

English - Sahih International Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those before them? They were more numerous than themselves and greater in strength and in impression on the land, but they were not availed by what they used to earn.
