وقال كفار "مكة": إن نتبع الحق الذي جئتنا به، ونتبرأ من الأولياء والآلهة، نُتَخَطَّفْ من أرضنا بالقتل والأسر ونهب الأموال، أولم نجعلهم متمكنين في بلد آمن، حرَّمنا على الناس سفك الدماء فيه، يُجلب إليه ثمرات كل شيء رزقًا مِن لدنا؟ ولكن أكثر هؤلاء المشركين لا يعلمون قَدْر هذه النعم عليهم، فيشكروا مَن أنعم عليهم بها ويطيعوه.

Et ils dirent: «Si nous suivons avec toi la bonne voie, on nous arrachera de notre terre». - Ne les avons-Nous pas établis dans une enceinte sacrée, sûre, vers laquelle des produits de toute sorte sont apportés comme attribution de Notre part? Mais la plupart d'entre eux ne savent pas.
English - Sahih International
And they say, "If we were to follow the guidance with you, we would be swept from our land." Have we not established for them a safe sanctuary to which are brought the fruits of all things as provision from Us? But most of them do not know.
