42 إِن كَادَ لَيُضِلُّنَا عَنْ آلِهَتِنَا لَوْلَا أَن صَبَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا ۚ وَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ حِينَ يَرَوْنَ الْعَذَابَ مَنْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا ﴿42﴾

التفسير الميسر - مجمع الملك فهد وإذا رآك هؤلاء المكذبون - أيها الرسول - استهزؤوا بك قائلين: أهذا الذي يزعم أن الله بعثه رسولا إلينا؟ إنه قارب أن يصرفنا عن عبادة أصنامنا بقوة حجته وبيانه، لولا أن ثَبَتْنا على عبادتها، وسوف يعلمون حين يرون ما يستحقون من العذاب: مَن أضل دينًا أهم أم محمد؟

Français - Muhammad Hamidullah Peu s'en est fallu qu'il ne nous égare de nos divinités, si ce n'était notre attachement patient à elles!». Cependant, ils sauront quand ils verront le châtiment, qui est le plus égaré en son chemin.

English - Sahih International He almost would have misled us from our gods had we not been steadfast in [worship of] them." But they are going to know, when they see the punishment, who is farthest astray in [his] way.
